I got the Lego Rivendell set for my birthday. With its 6167 pieces, it’s in the top 10 of largest Lego sets ever.

Lego released a couple of Lord of the Rings sets around 2013, but I didn’t buy any of them (which I regret now). Some of them can be bought second hand, but at a very high price.
So I was very glad to see the Lego Rivendell set. Not only it is huge, but it also contains the complete fellowship. A great way to catch up!

The build is clearly aimed at adults. It contains all kinds of building techniques that you won’t find in the children’s sets. There a plenty of details, like Bilbo’s writing room or the shards of Narsil. So certainly worth the 500€ price tag.
And I must say: it does look awesome once you’ve completed it!
