A New Look for My Phone
After my old phone cover finally bit the dust, I knew it was time for an upgrade. But instead of settling for a generic design from the local store, I wanted something truly unique.
But before diving into the design process… let’s talk movies!
Commando
If you’re a fan of 80’s action flicks, you’ve probably seen “Commando,” featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger. It’s packed with over-the-top action, unforgettable one-liners, and a simple yet thrilling plot: an ex-commando on a mission to rescue his kidnapped daughter. But honestly, the story is secondary to the sheer spectacle of explosions, fights, and memorable quotes.
Take, for instance, the iconic scene where Arnie impales a villain on a steam pipe and tells him to “Let off some steam“.
And who could forget the epic bazooka sequence? That particular scene is key to my phone cover’s design.
Designing My Custom Cover
While browsing Etsy, I came across some creative phone covers featuring Arnold with his bazooka, cleverly aligning the bazooka’s barrel with the phone’s camera. Unfortunately, none of the designs fit my phone model.
So, I decided to create my own. I found the original image, took precise measurements of my phone, and got to work in Photoshop.
The bazooka needed a bit of tweaking to fit my phone’s rectangular camera setup, so I used Photoshop’s generative AI features. A few clicks, and the image was seamlessly extended. I also needed extra sky in the background, and Photoshop’s AI effortlessly filled in the gaps, creating a natural-looking expansion.

Once satisfied with my design, I placed an order on case24.com.
The Final Product
And here it is: my custom “Commando” phone cover, bringing a bit of ‘80s action to my everyday life.
